What is a Guardian Home?

In order to continue breeding, it is not possible for us to keep every puppy into adulthood and beyond. Making the decision for us to place one of our dogs in a guardian home is tough, as they are a part of our family. However, I feel that the guardian home provides a great family home for our puppies.

We will place a puppy that we would like to continue breeding with into a family home. After passing pre-breeding health tests, the dog will enter our breeding program and come back to us to whelp a litter of puppies. This is a way that our adult dogs can be a part of a family. Once the dog has whelped and raised her litter, she will return to the guardian family. After the contract has been fulfilled, the dog will be spayed/neutered and placed in the guardian family's home. Ownership will be transferred to the guardian family.

For the males, the dog will have to be available to us for breeding at certain times of the year. He can either visit us for a short time of the day or we can keep him here for a few days.

Is there a cost for a Guardian Home?

There is a $450 guardian fee, and the purchase cost of the puppy is waived. We include a large puppy kit of all of the essentials (crate not included). All breeding related costs and testing are our cost. When the contract has been fulfilled, we will pay for your dog to be spayed/neutered.

How many litters will my dog have?

Our female puppies are generally under contract for a maximum of 4 litters (one per year). The males are in the guardian home program until they are 7 years old.

Requirements of the Guardian Family

We do prefer that there is a stay at home parent, home office, or that the dog is able to go to work with you. However that is just a preference. If you are not sure if your family qualifies, just send us an email and we will get back to you asap!

Non-negotiable requirement - You must have a PHYSICAL FENCE.
